Jason T. Mushnick represents public and private entities, as well as individuals, in a variety of complex commercial litigation and transactional matters. While much of his practice is devoted to labor and employment law, Jason’s experience working at large, prominent law firms in New York and New Jersey, has provided him the tools to effectively represent clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to closely held businesses and proprietorships in a wide array of legal issues. Jason has also represented both employers and employees in a host of employment matters arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and other federal and state discrimination statutes.
Jason counsels his clients on matters including, but not limited to, employment law, business formations and transactions, franchise disputes, contracts, cyber security, real estate transactions and disputes, landlord-tenant law, mortgage foreclosure, liquor licenses, and contractor and construction disputes and litigation. Jason provides advice concerning employment manuals and policies and conducts anti-harassment and discrimination training for private businesses and public entities, such as municipalities and school boards.
His experience includes collective bargaining, disciplinary hearings, and mediations. Jason has represented clients in a wide array of administrative actions including those before the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission, the Civil Service Commission, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Office of Administrative Law. Jason attained successful results on an interlocutory appeal before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, reversing a lower court order which is rarely accomplished. Jason’s litigation experience includes wrongful termination and harassment matters, contract disputes, wage and hour disputes as well as other employment matters. He appears in both in both state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey.
Jason obtained his undergraduate education at the Boston University, Questrom School of Business where he received a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in Business Law and Entrepreneurship. He then attended Seton Hall University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. After law school, he completed two Judicial Clerkships in the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey with the Hon. Christine M. Vanek, J.S.C., and Joseph A. Turula, P.J.S.C.
